The character of Mexico Beach
Mexico Beach rebuilt itself after Hurricane Michael into one of the newest-inventory beach towns in Florida: elevated construction, new interiors, and a beach kept human-scale by the town's ban on high-rises. The repeat-guest base is fiercely loyal, planning the same week year after year.
The town rents on two currents. The beach blocks south of 98 offer walk-across-the-road Gulf access for families, and the canal district serves the fishing crowd with docks, boat ramps, and some of the Gulf's best-known inshore water just offshore. Owners do well here because the housing stock is new and the demand is personal.
